If anyone is a tech head and interested in an amazing piece of technology, Skully, as part of their world tour are visiting Sydney tomorrow to allow you to test out their helmet.

It comes with heads up display, blue tooth, rear view
Camera, GPS and is Aus compliant.

Presentation and helmet test will be at the Hyatt in Sydney Tuesday evening.  I'll be there if anyone else fancies popping down.

I like the idea of the helmet but it's not something I'd get for myself.

Things like battery life could be an issue for some; especially on trips that take days an not hours. The GPS feature I could use but that's about it.

If I was closer I would go. It gives some pointers to the future in 5 or ten year's time

As has been said previously, what happens when you replace your helmet after 4 years? Quite expensive to be shelling out that sort of money.

Nice piece of equipment, but not for me. I agree with Totgas.

I'm with Brock- waaaay too much information to process, hence major distraction.
If you're a highly trained fighter pilot, the HUD and associated information can be processed, in a tightly disciplined environment with autopilot backup.  On the bike it's just you, the bike and the road.  And in the twisties you'd better be focused on the road and the bike, not the navigation or the call from Sarah or the name and album of the current music.

Over engineering? ... brings back memories of the info-mecial ads on TV of the whizz- bang egg cracker device.. "No more messy fingers!"

Umm, ...very rarely do I ever get messy fingers when cracking an egg, and at a cost of $52 for a mechanical tool to 'aid' the process of removing the shell from an egg, ???..

I think I will prefer to glance in my mirrors when necessary, drop my eyes to the GPS if needed, and 'Sarah' can either call me later, or I will call her back when I have finished touring for the day, there is a very good reason why I removed the MP3 disk player/radio from my bike many months ago.
