Out for a Sunday Ride
« on: July 05, 2015, 05:53:06 PM »
Had a superb Sunday today!

Teela and I headed for breakfast to the Chocolate Cottage, where we had an awesome but light breakfast.

Scooted down Esk-Hampton Road in fantastic weather (apart from the motorhome doing 60km/h) to meet up with the QLD contingent of the Aussie St Owners Club for coffee at the Esk Bakery.

It is always great to catch up with my old mates (and meet some new ones).

Headed around to Coominya to Atkinson Dam for a look.

We found another ST1300 from Toowoomba having a BBQ Lunch so filled them in about OzSTOC and DDR.

We had a chat and a rest, waved goodbye, headed for Gatton, flagstone creek, the sun was shining few clouds, Teela and I where saving the world’s problems in all our conversations as we rode along…

200km done, not long enough, but it always amazes me how much fun you can have in a short day on the bike.
Monday is going to start on a better note because of it!

we bounce back and forth a bit, Teela has dragged the chain getting her license (much to a little frustration of mine lol), but she is back into it friday and is hoping to be licenced by the end of the month :)

the handlebar vibration is causing problems for her, she can only roll a 300km day tops at this stage

Gr8 RR Ironman. Teela no doubt enjoys the simplicity and camaraderie of the pillion role. Isn't it amazing that u discovered another STeed rider in Toowoomba that is not aware of ozSTOC until now. Or was it just a case of awareness but not participation yet.

Reminds me of an incident in Wollongong a few months ago. We were on our way home from the market near home when immediately in front appeared a silver ST1300. He was heading along a route that coincided with home but then took a turnoff and I said to Terese "I'll just follow him a bit and if he pulls into a driveway I'll stop n say g'day and quickly tell him about ozSTOC".
Bad idea - he thought we were stalking him and did some tricky things to try and lose us so I said "Whoops" and let him go his own way. My mistake, but I was trying 2 b friendly, not weird. Haven't seen him since and will definitely not follow anyone again b4  any know-alls give me that advice.

Sheesh!  You know how not to recruit!!     :grin

Maybe if you could get a flashing blue light going you would get him to stop for a chat.     :crackup
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Have you tried foam hand grips over the oem rubber ones?    I found these to absorb much of the vibration on a couple of my earlier sporties ie TRX850
I jus wanna ride my bike
