Yep.  OCD!

Was worried for a mo that you had ruined the ST with Yoshis or somesuch.
But a good dose of Purple Polish (or similar) brings the Honda chrome out in all its glorious subtlety.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

What I did in the first photo was to run a little masking tape to show the difference pre n post polish. I use solvol (tube) which seems to do the job. I've yet to try purple polish

You won't be disappointed.  Available from Bursons in Brisbane.  Not cheap at $20, but a little dab'll do ya.
