As it was, a week ago.. temp agricultural type fitting .....until I located a plastic bit in my collection of 'stuff'

Today I made a mod to my GPS mount, found a bodgy plastic bracket, modified it to suit, screwed the GPS mount to it and mounted on the tray. Can see all indicator lights now, much better. Top of GPS fits snug against screen

Do you have rubber/silicone stoppers/buffers to prevent the GPS vibrating holes into the screen?

STs don't vibrate.  You're thinking of Harleys.    :whistle

The STs don't vibrate, but Aussie roads cause vibrations. .

Sunday project.... seeing as I can't wear a helmet, might as well do some light maintenance...

New replacement Oxford grips, seeing as the old ones have carked it... will be right for next winter  :grin :thumb

I might get some of those later as well.

Can you post some pics of how you did it?

I decided that today was the day to fit my new Oxfords.. First of all, had to visit the Doc for a dressing change... next change is on Thursday.
Was home from the Doc about 9 am, and started by removing the tupperware from the handlebars ... half a dozen screws.
That was the easy bit... then I removed the bar end weights and tried to get the old grips off, .... throttle grip was ok,

Clutch grip was a different story... had to butcher it with an angle grinder, and lever it from the bar.

Next I removed both levers from the bars to give me access to the cabling for replacement. Seat and side covers and panniers were removed to run new cables, and removed old wiring, just had to clip a few cable ties. One cable tie was behind the tank cover, but I only had to remove the rear screws to get my hand under.

Next bit was to sneak the new cables through, and connect to the battery.

I poked spare cable under the plastic at the head stem (lots of room there) and popped a couple cable ties to secure them. New controller fitted, and levers bolted back to the bars. If you try this, make sure that heater cables do not foul levers or switches operation (high beam flasher on 1100) Test operation before replacing the tupperware

Re-assembled the tupperware, re= tightened everything, and now the new controller looks pretty schmiko! PC has already scored the old controller, as his is faulty, and failed on the way home from the National meet.... just have to package and post it. ++

Thanks Kev

Not used to seeing the right side cover off of my 1100. Seeing the coolant tank in that location looks weird as that's where the rear ABS modulator is located on mine. Don't think I've had that cover off since I replaced the brake fluid last time.

Like your grip removing tool.

The old heaters were wired to the ignition... the new ones are direct wired to the battery, but auto-magically turn off after a short while, if the engine is not running. Don'tcha just love intelligent electronics? This means I can turn the heaters on and have warm grips before I pull on my gloves and helmet, and mount up and start the engine.

I looked at the national weather RADAR this morning and said to Dezohn that Kev was in for more rain. Have you grown gills yet?

Not yet, Gary... but I may have some problems adapting my flippers to fit the footpegs  :grin

We had 6 mm rain between 4 and 6 pm, then light showers for a total of 10 mm up til 9 tonight.

Rain has now stopped long enough for me to put the bins at the kerb, but there is more coming yet
