Using a GoPro Hero 4 Silver (has screen on back) and nothing wrong with the cam. Records up to 4K though I tend to use 720p or 1080p and I can change the view from wide, medium or narrow and use medium. Can take single photo but never tried that and time lapse is good at the 1 shot ever 2 seconds I tried.
I have found that I do get a lot of instability issues even when worn on the helmet more from SAs poor road conditions and the GoPro movie editor hasn't anything on board to stabilise the image.
I have Wi-Fi as well and it does come in handy for setting the camera view as it's paired with my phone. I can also operate the camera remotely with the Wi-Fi while on the move if I ever need to do that.
Mounting the cam is critical and the shorter the mount the better. I notice the add showing a picture of a wind blown over GoPro type cam which has never happened with mine at speeds up to 120ish k/h.
This clip was done with cam on the bike with view towards the back as well.
