Name change
« on: April 06, 2012, 12:10:08 PM »
Beatup is no longer.
Decided after reading abt   Nh478m  and Steveo that a "real" name was needed on the site.
Seems a bit daft sending best wishes after an off to something as impersonal as a "Nh478m".
Or should we have a line in the profile section which allows for a christian name  rather than just the nickname.
Never under estimate the predictability of stupidity.

I chose STeveo as my name is Steve (obviously) but my grandfather used to call me Steveo and it has ST in it as well. Seemed to fit.  :)  :bl11

Anybody who reads the signature line can see my real name anyway.  Aussies have always used nicknames as ID so why are we worried about having fifteen people with the same name, and an initial behind it to identify ourselves.

When it comes to it, getting the right person to send a message to we end up looking through a group of peoples names and think which one has the correct last initial, instead of a nickname that ID us individually.  I would personally prefer to see in the members list, our names beside your "Forum Name" so you can address the issue you talked about Beatup, and everybody stays individual on the Forum.

My .02c worth.
Steve

I was wondering who the new boy was.  Rides a 'Wing, too I hear.  All things new, hey?    :grin
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
