Today's been pretty hot, and late this arvo we had this big fella in the front yard.  He spent nearly an hour sitting on the ground and drinking from the bird bath, before taking refuge up the tree.   We often see koalas in the trees around our place, but this was a bit special.  it's lovely to live in an area where we share our neighborhood with such the wildlife.

Only a resident blue tongue where I am now.  Before that, blue tongues, sleepies, dragons, loads of Roos & wallabies, the odd koala. Least welcome we’re the browns & red bellies, but had a Maremma dog that disposed of them. Don’t mess with a Maremma.

Looks like he's not shy about helping himself to a free drink.
Nothing where we are now, but when I managed the Complex I had quite a few tame Water Dragons, a couple of Magpies that would come into the office and a butcherbird who liked perching on the ST's screen.  On a couple of occasions quite long (2 - 3 metres) carpet pythons stretched themselves out in the sun.  Possums were a common pest.  Cute but.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

My dog Kimba is a Maremma x irish wolfhound and she just lets every animal that comes in the yard stay, except cats.
