I just did my first front tyre change on STrangler.
First up I read the relevant sections in the ST1300 manual, there are minor differences to the 1100 and not wanting to Stuff it up I followed the instructions and took pics to make sure I put spacers back where they belong.
On Stranger I haven't had to remove the front mudgaurd but the 13's manual said to so I did.I then removed the right side brake caliper from the fork, loosened the axle nut and 4 axle clamp bolts pulled out the axle then removed the wheel.
1 of the brake pads swung down hanging by the back pin. I saw the pad was well worn down. Luckily I had purchased a full set so no probs, I'll replace them when I put it all back together.
I got the local Picton Tyre service to put on the Michelin PR2 I had from a pair I'd bought with the bike.
I put it back together as per removal just in reverse then took out the old brake pads and in with the new, making sure all where hooked up correctly.
The front PR3 had travelled just over 26,000ks and had squared off from all the FR's and highway rides.
I should get good K's from this new tyre. The rear PR3 was changed in Tasmania.
After putting STrangler together I noticed that the R angle air nipple was put in facing the wrong way even though I made a clean line marking which way and told the guy fitting it to point it out to the right. Ah well at least it's there and will still be better access than the normal straight one.
I tried to ad pics off my phone but site says too big so pics will be added soon after I shift them to laptop and resize them
