Well that was a great day out!
For Ruth and me the day started with a ride out through the suburbs and down the Centenary Motorway. At the lights at Waterworks Rd I noticed an ST11 behind us. "Hmm I wonder if he's going where we are going?". At the next set he pulled alongside to say G'day. It was DaleAP! Dale followed us most of the way until our GPS got us lost, at which point he bravely took the lead and led us safely to the destination. Yes it was the GPS's fault - not my lousy sense of direction.
When we arrived at Scotty's we met BM Brian and his beautiful red ST13 with her name 'Ruby' boldly displayed on the cowl, and within minutes DavidP and Lane, Bill and Dee, Gerard and NiftyNev arrived. What a great turn-out. The weather was perfect, and such a change from the previous couple of days.
After considerable warm hearted chatter in the carpark we hit the cafe to treat ourselves to late breakfast / early lunch and more warm hearted chatter. Finally some of us went to inspect the mystery that lies behind those closed garage doors. As usual Scotty was good for a chat, and even those of us who had seen it before enjoyed another look over his collection.
Finally, home. Ruth and I headed over Mt Glorious; a road so travelled that I think STrudel could find his own way, although I think he still needs my help to get around some of the twisties. As several had suspected there was considerable debris on the road; mostly at the top end of Northbrook Parkway. There are also a couple of patches where repairs are still under way following the April/May rain. But still a nice run. It just required a bit more 'caution' and a bit less 'crazy' than usual.
It was great to meet up with so many. First RTE we have been on for quite a while. Thanks to all.
