Crankcase Breather Hoses
« on: June 01, 2024, 08:30:58 PM »
Technical ST1300 Question - there are three "breather" hoses, two to the rear, one to the front of the crankcase.  What is the purpose of these hoses?

A potential buyer noticed damp spot under the ST1300, after it had been idling for 15 to 20 minutes.  Important (to me) to note that there is no evidence of any fluid under the bike where it has sat unused for the past one or two months.

My first best guess is that is was some overflow of some coolant after the engine had warmed-up.

My second best guess is that the front one is a crankcase breather.

Happy to be corrected, and provided with a correct answer.
