going for a ride
« on: June 06, 2012, 01:39:12 PM »
nisi and I are going for a ride sometime this week. most people say were mad as the trip is to wagga to see my mum and dad then to newcastle to see nisi's mum. brrrr guna be a bit cool but got new gear and thermals.

here's a pic of STead early this week

new fork seals, antidive internal orings (screwd one had to rebuy  :|||| ) . new rear tyre metzeler roadtec Z6, refit towbar, adjust rear shocky, refit nep throttle lock with minor adjustments of heated grip wires and new headlight bulbs. waited 4-5 days for new shims, purchase bulbs, cut tabs to get ready to fit. will not seat properly  :|||| try again by fileing tabs  :|||| still nogo  :think1 . when the rebuild way back when id purchased a new headlight unit! guess what! standard H4 configoration so ive had cool whites since then as i now remember replaceing then at that time. Owell new improved globes now anyway but with 2 tabs cutof (I think I recall tipsy has done that successfully I hope). new front brake pads as old ones contaminated by blown fork seal oil

bike is all but together now just tupperware, screen, lambs wool, airhawks and trailer plug wireing. next thing today is touchup trailer.

should be ready to go friday to sunday. just TRYING to plan around the rain between brissy, moree, west wylong to wagga. sofar will be wet somewere  :cuss . anyway I will post on FB photos and report on how colllddd it is! no not that but how good tis to be rideing again. if you see me on the road giveus a wave

Have a good trip. Based on the weather down this way the last few days count on wind and cold, but hopefully the sun may be out to make it seema  bit better.  What time will you be around Wagga Wagga?  Just thinking/planning aloud here in case a day ride might be on the cards...

Except when you've ridden 4000kms in four days to get back home and you have to do it all over again 7 days later to go back to work. Still, I'd much sooner do that on my bike than go through the hassle of getting on a plane.

Have a good trip

Fortunately I don't have work in the way at the moment, so just getting into week day riding as a real option.
