Engine exhaust colour question...

hey guys, use to be that if exhaust was white inside engine running great, if black running rich, that still apply with unleaded fuel, inside my exhaust very black :wht11

These days with unleaded fuel, (and all the crap additives that are needed now) all exhausts are black. The white residue was lead oxide I believe.

Have to agree with you Brock, with the additives they put in the fuel you can't read the colour of your exhausts like you use too. :thumb :blk13

Yes, the lead in the fuel gave the white colour.  Its a pity 2 strokes have died a bit, as they would have loved unleded fuel.
