I Use FW1 ( FW1.com.au) spray to polish the bike. Its a bit like mr Sheen but doesnt attract dust and is a waterless cleaner so you can do screens, visors, plastics, metal trim as well as duco. Its great stuff and keeps the screen like new.
Recently I fitted a Bike-Quip screen from Pommy land. Its an inch wider each side and an inch higher with a upwards lip. It doesnt really make much difference to me, but the cook said it stopped all buffeting around her helmet and shoulders. She used to have trouble hearing the intercom, but she reckons she can hear fine now the noise is gone. If it makes her happy to be on the back then it was worth the dollars  :thumb

I'm also a big fan of the FW1 cleaning wax.  You buy it in carparks when they're in your area.
It's far from cheap, but you don't use a lot and it does what it claims.  You can try and haggle with them.  They have a package deal, including carpet shampoo and tyre dressing, but unless you really want them, stay with the cleaning wax.
I thought I had a cheap copy from Supacheap Auto (ezy Shine) at 1/3 the cost, but it's watery crap by comparison.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

V-Stream ordered from National Cycles in the US (couldn't find an Aussie dist.)

$200 delivered. I'd call that pretty good.

Hey PJ - tell us more about your 'bug catcher' at the bottom of the screen.

Kev, I'm willing to bet you can't 'read' a disk that's been put through our process...1 minute in microwave oven on full power (also good for a light show!!) then snap the disk into 4 different bits. Not saying that we are do anything we shouldn't but we deal with a lot of Classified data disks and that's about the only way to make them unreadable short of a SCEC endorsed shredder that reduces them to a fine dust...whilst making a lot of strange noises |-i |-i :CB--

The Bug Catcher does exactly what it says on the tin. So far on the new bike I haven't re-fitted it simply because I haven't had time but... on the old bike it was truly so useful. It's just the lower section of a chain saw mesh mask cut to match the lower cutout of whichever screen it's going onto (they're all different so I've got a collection of three to choose from. V-Stream, Stock OEM & stock aftermarket). Then it slots into one side of some R26 spec extruded rubber section while the edge of the screen goes in the other side of the extrusion. I actually drilled two very small holes near the edge of the screen and slipped a couple of tiny plastic tie wraps through it to hold the catcher firmly in place. It never came off. Only issue was in that, at speed and while retracting the screen the lower edge of the catcher clicked off the top edge of the 'HONDA' badge on the front cowl buit I got over that by sticking a couple of rubber sliders onto the bodywork to guide the offending edge over the top of the badge. Worked a treat then. While it was fitted I never had to clean bugs off the inside of the screen and never caught one in the face either. Already on the new bike I've collected a couple of bugs in the face with the Evoline 3 visor up and the inside of the screen gets cleaned with Pledge or Mr Sheen after every trip. (Still in the bike-proud stage yet)!

Hope this helps. Here's what it looks like. Not pretty yet but it works and I've got a couple of ideas to help that.

Thanks mate - there is certainly some food for thought.

I might look in Clark Rubber as I saw they have an extensive range of extruded rubber surrounds.

V-Stream just arrived from US. Will fit it shortly and post up differences I have found between it and OEM.        :hatwave

Talking windshields.... Does anyone know of a local to Brisbane place where I could get my schWING screen cut down by 100 or so mm?
At its lowest setting the top of screen is right in my line of sight........Another thing I miss about the ST is the screen stayed down most days unless it was persisting down with rain.....
I jus wanna ride my bike

There's a perspex guy up my way whom I'm going to ask if he can slightly reshape my OEM windscreen - I'll see if he can do da schwing and let you know mate.
