Old Age and Driver's License's
« on: January 12, 2013, 07:49:19 PM »

My neighbour was working in his yard when he was startled by a late model car that came crashing through his hedge and ended up in his front lawn.

He rushed to help an elderly lady driver out of the car and sat her down on a lawn chair.

"My goodness," he said with excitement, "you appear quite elderly to be driving."

"Well, yes, I am," she replied proudly.  "I'll be 97 next month, and I am now old enough that I don't even need a driver's license anymore.  The last time I went to my doctor, he examined me and asked if I had a driver's license.

“I told him ‘yes’ and handed it to him.  He took scissors out of the drawer, cut the license into pieces, and threw them in the wastebasket, saying, 'You won't be needing this anymore,' so I thanked him and left!"

Yep, there's a lot of them driving in this suburb.  I'm one of the younger ones.   :p
I'd estimate there's one of those gofer carts for every five cars, and every second car is driven by a senior citizen.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

We only have one gopher in town that i've seen.

Two guys have motorised push bikes that tear along the street the break neck speed of 60kph.
Another guy has a push trike that has been fitted with an electric motor and he has a small trailer that he tows behind it.

None of those vehicles need a licence
