Best of both worlds....
« on: January 21, 2013, 01:56:58 PM »
Spotted this punter on my ride to work this morning (Pumicestone Passage, Bribie Island Qld).....

Didn't have time to stop and chat.

Looks like someone's living the dream!        :-++

Cheers, Diesel

Sits the back of the bus down a fair bit.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Talked to a bloke from Broken hill today here for the cow music (wish they would shut up, anybody want a country music festival?) who brought his Hardly Ferguson over behind his motorhome to use as a run around.

Surely there'd have been a friendly farmer who could've hired out his tractor - would've saved this bloke from dragging his anti-gravity machine around the country :grin

I've still got two, could have sold him one for the cost of fuel from Broken Hill.

Com'on STeveo. That's on my "To Do List". The music festival that is, not having a Hardly Ferguson.

Thanks STeveo. Would definitely be a 'solo' trip as Mrs Skip is not likely to hang out with me while I listen to a few days of cow music.  :grin
See you on the next SE QLD RTE.  :thumb

On a recent ride from Gold Coast to Cairns, I met a chap and his wife (in their early fifties), who live full-time in their "Fifth wheeler". a huge thing towed by a massive Dodge ute (I think it was a Dodge). This thing has all mod cons, including a garage in the back with a ramp that allowed him to ride in (and back out) his Harley (poor choice of bike, in my opinion, but I wasn't going to say that to him though). This van was based on one of those huge horse floats. Oh I was very, very jealous, I can tell you. Down side was he has around $220,000 dollars tied up in this machinery, although that is a lot less than most Australian real estate. They have no other ties and just keep moving around from free camp ground to free camp ground.

I think the Americans call them Toy Haulers. A good name.

I could imagine myself doing that...but my wife shudders when I mention it. Pity
