Yet another Flood!
« on: January 27, 2013, 05:48:43 PM »
Just been watching our State Premier telling us that Ipswich and Brisbane are going to have another flood like we had in 2011, only not quite as big, only 14 metres of water not the 19 metres we had then. I can tell you there are a whole bunch of very worried residents down by the river right now!
Cheers,
Paul

Some life long family friends of Kym's had their house and contents destroyed by the 2011 floods on the Bremer river. They're about 17m or so up from the river. Kym said tonight they may be wiped out again by this flood.

 >:()    :phone    :eek

Let's hope it doesn't cause too much damage this time round and people don't do stupid things in rivers and waterways. I've been in the tin can this weekend due to the strong winds and slippery roads. Thank heavens too, the crazies are on the road.  :cuss

Stay safe everyone.
Rob.

Here's one of our Member's back yard in Bundaberg.

He's praying the river and tide don't conspire to back up the water any more.  His house is 75mm clear of the water at the moment.

I should have added it's Hadley's yard.  He rides a charcoal ST1300.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

A 60 year old was swept off his motorbike in south Brisbane last night around 11:00.  He drowned.
Very sad- may have been on his way home from work- dunno.

Hadley's nick is "Had" and if you look at his pin on his map, it's actually pretty close to where he lives, a stone's throw from Palmer's Creek which flows into (and backs up from) the Burnett River.

Best wishes and a bit of good luck being sent your way from (less) damp Sydney.

Be safe, everyone.
