Bikers Gear Leather pants
« on: May 23, 2013, 08:46:00 PM »
Anyone have or heard any reports on the Bikers Gear brand of leather pants ??

seem well priced, I have Textile pants for long distance and Kevlar jeans as well for coffee rides. Just considering trying leather pants.

The thing that really appeals is the leg seam is left raw to cut to your own length.

Any feed back appreciated

Thanks

Pockey

I have a comment......once the pants were cut to your length would I now have enough left over Leather to cover the seat on the ST ??

I have a leather jacket from " Bikers Gear" that I would say is well made.
That I got from the Ulysses AGM in Townsville which is quite a few years ago now
And still looks like new. Not that I wear it all the time.

So no one is wearing these Leather jeans or prepared to admit to it, so what's your opinion of leather pants in general on the bike ?

I can only guess hot in summer and cold in winter, but what else can you tell me about them.

Indeed to replace my Hornee jeans and was thinking leather.

How about you pick the line that is the most helpful solution to my request and we will see how that one goes, but I guess it will end with a reply from me that looks like the following  :fp  :fp or  :spank  :spank.

But as they say suck it and see !!!!

I would think that leather would give more protection than Kevlar jeans, unless the leather is more dress leather and too thin for protection then it might not be too different. I used to have the leather jacket and pants for many years back in the 80s (they were scuffed up in a slide down the road, so I know they worked!).  The textile gear now offers more flexibility than leather in terms of different conditions (eg waterproof).

Hey Juddy, can't wait till Pockie meets me and realizes that there is two of us with the same sense of humour. Gold.

Oh great,  :fp if there is another one out there just like Tony, that also means there is another poor suffering wife just like Jeanette.  :wink1

But I guess , if they can't whip you fellows into line then I will take it upon myself to wheeled the big stick, with the advantage on this occasion being my height, as I tend to aim low.  :grin

See you out there.

Neale, please forgive Pockie and pit STop (Jeanette, Tony's wife), as the poor ladies have suffered the boys poor lack of humour and high input of smut over the years.

As for me I'm just an angel., just ask me.  :rofl :rofl :rofl

Lucky my phantom pillion (current wife) doesn't read the forum.

Still trying to convince the bride to come along to one of these shin-digs.

Sure thing Dave. It can be hard for the female psyche to comprehend with, and even cope, with the male sense of humour. It can me a tricky and, sometimes, incomprehensible road to follow. It should be our responsibility, nay, our mission, to subject said persons to this humour on a regular basis to ensure that the message gets through. Plus it's a pisser.

ok Ladies and Gents...back on track please....

and my two cents on Leather motorcycle pants, tried once never again, found them heavy and just not comfortable. i think technology has come far in the way of riding pants that you would be taking a step back by going that way, but thats only what i think  :thumb

So I have had some time tonight to get my head into some serious research on the proposed leather pants to replace my Hornee brand jeans.

Had a look at feedback here and from some other sites that Chris put me onto, these pants would be only for day rides and if doing short day trips whilst away on longer touring rides, so I would still need to carry jeans anyway for off the bike activities.  :think1 at the end of the day Kevlar Jeans will be far easier to live with day to day.

Looked at a number of options incl NEDS as a OzSToc preferred supplier, my downfall is I am not only a girl, but a girly girl  :wink1 and most of the manufactures jeans are just to boy like for little ol' me.  :p

So the winner is ------- Draggin Minx ( with lots cut off the legs  :well)

Thanks for your feedback and the tongue in cheek banter that I love about the ppl here.

Well my new jeans are here, seam well made, soft and supple and fit how I like them.  :thumb

So far can recommend them on there style and cut, but its only time that will tell about comfort and endurance.

They are with my seamstress now who gets to see most of my pants when I buy them  :crackup

Well, that's Chris out of any future RTE's - once he catches a glimpse of his lady in hot leather pants he won't be able to go any further. I'd reckon Chris's new catch phrase will be "You guys go ahead, we'll catch you up".  :rofl
