My name is Allan and I just bought a property up near Forster NSW. My wife and I have been doing the Grey Nomad thing for the last 4 years since leaving Canberra and finally realised that we really wanted to have our own house and land in a rural area so here we are
.
I've owned the ST1300 since buying it new in 2003 and used mostly as a commuter in Canberra though did manage a couple of longer trips, The biggest being a 3 week journey from the cold of Canberra's winter to Cooktown with my wife on her 700cc Deauville and a mate on a BMW 1200S?.
Havent had any major incidents though I've managed to drop the bike a few times in the garage, at servo's and other very public places
and also managed to just touch somebody's bumper which cracked the front guard. Latest incident was when my wife ran into the bike in the garage, knocked it over and now the RHS mirror is cracked. Those crash bars and removable mirror plastics are absolutely brilliant (mostly).
Anyway after 4 years of a bike free life I'm looking forward to getting a few rides in around the mid north coast area.
Its nice to find an Aussie ST owners club forum and I look forward to meeting some of you some day.
