I still love my Shoei RJ Platinum R open face at certain times, just not the times when I might land on my chin. If i'd have had a guess, I would have thought the highest incidents of impact would have been right between those 2 frontal areas, and the two just behind them, however there is a big difference in the numbers between the very front and very rear on each side. Hmmmm

Logically, that would account for the difference, and so ours would be reversed.

Intuitively one tends to think in terms of "landing on your head" but that appears to be rare, and the "smack in the face" seems to be highly probable.
I read a few accounts where the rider was very grateful for the chin bar.  It even makes me a little wary of tip-up helmets, even though they claim their locking mechanism is strong enough.

Staying to rethink my old Nolan open face with visor helmet. But it is so hard to drink with a full face... Hahahaha

Must be the reason I`ve always worn full face, whether on the dirt or on the black stuff!
