I agree with the comments of our fellow ST riders. I usually ride with one or two mates who I know well and can easily, through familiarity anticipate their reactions in a given situation (overtaking, stopping etc). We all used to ride with the Blue Liners on their Tamworth run in May, but gave that away due to idiots overtaking us on double yellow lines, corners etc. Strangely these were nearly all Harley mounted riders, showing us what they could do I suppose. Often they would pass us in 60 kph zones doing well over the speed limit. All together not a good look and somewhat annoying. I think this was due to the club dropping their entry standards and allowing a lot of different riders, shall we say to join the club.Recently they have reassessed their requirements to remove these elements and provide a safer riding experience. I believe that we should all ride at our own pace and always within our comfort zone. It is when we ride outside that zone mishaps often occur. The main thing is to ride safely at all times and never endanger other riders/road users.

Well I have been on 1 group ride with OZSTOC and that was with 1 rider, Yorkie. Have to say, I would ride with him anyday.... Done a lot of riding with mates in groups up to 40 bikes. Just gotta be smart about how you ride when in close packs and a good understanding and respect of each others ability goes a long way. Communication and training is definitely a must for close pack riding.

Looking forward to getting out with a few of the other ST riders here!

Apart from leading (bind leading the blind) a few other Ozstoc riders from Morgan to the Overland Corner Hotel I have never been in a group ride.

However on my first trip over to Perth I had a group pass me as I was leaving Merredin. I lost count of the number of bikes after thirty.

I prefer to ride on my own as then I can stop or ride whenever I want.
