Saturday Ride Finds a Prospective Newbie.
« on: March 08, 2014, 07:46:14 PM »
Went for a short squirt this morning up to Luddenham with Loppie on her ST 500. So proud of her, she is doing so well. Confidence growing each time she rides. Anyhow, stopped at the servo for coffee and there was a '93 ST 1100, red in colour with rider gearing up. Went and had a yarn. Introduced himself as Bob Priestley from Springwood.  Not a member and card was issued. Need some more cards Streak, if you're reading this. Also turns out to be another ex-copper and knows a few of my mates.  Small world eh?

Anyway, hope to see Bob on here in the near future.  He has some 1100 issues he should discuss with the boffins.

Coffee was great, as usual.  Ride home was great as I watch my girl getting better and better. The Sena Comms works a treat between us and we can talk about issues as we ride as well as have a laugh.

Cheers. :thumb

True STOckers ride every day and twice on weekend days.  It's addictive.
I did the Bruxner from Tenterfield to Lismore yesterday.  First time for me.  Another great bit of road- I actually prefer it to the Oxley, I think, but will have to do them again to be sure.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Mate, when I'm on the road it's petrol that I stop for, and that's not often.
I did glimpse something called Drake in my mirrors.
One of these days I'll do some of those leisurely rides that people talk about with coffee and photos and stuff like that.

Good burger at the pub at Drake  :thumbsup
