WA Buying / Shipping Thread
« on: May 10, 2014, 10:41:53 AM »
Hi All,
This thread is for WA riders who are looking to purchase something from Out of State that may interest other riders.
Example of this would be:
I have broken my screen and am placing an order with David Silver Spares. Does anyone need anything and want to split postage?

It will be the Original Poster's responsibility to organise payments and delivery from supplier to a location here and if the product is something that is being sourced through a member here and has a page already dedicated to that product, the OP makes 1 order on that page for all that want to participate in this thread.
The OP should also indicate when they are placing the order so that new parties interested know a cut off date or that the order is closed.

My thought would be to make this a sticky in the WA section - Brock, if you do this, please delete this line  :beer

Another worthy look - Ride on Tyre Sealant
Diesel has managed to swing a 20% discount with Brendan at LSM technologies.
See here   --->  http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=5797.0
I spoke to Brendan a few days back as I am interested in the Ride-On tyre sealer.
As I noted on Diesel's thread to do both tyres on a ST1100 requires 2.6 bottles per bike.
Price is $15 per bottle so basically you can cover the main area that is affected by punctures for $45 per bike.
Brendan has quoted me $30 to send a box of 12 bottles.
This equates to 4 bikes with a bit left over.

Close date : TBA - waiting to see interest in purchasing

So Far:
Pezzz 3 bottles :-)

Hey guys, that tyre sealant sounds similar to "Slime" which is readily available at most auto stores.
Has anyone used this sort of stuff before and would you recommend it.
Thanks, Tom.

It is similar to slime, but apparently not as messy when doing a tyre change as its water cleanable or something like that.

Slime is a sealant that coats everything inside the tyre. VERY messy stuff to use. Tyre changing places hate it, because if they don't know, when they start removing the tyre it runs all over the machine.

Ride On stays in the under side of the tread of the tyre. There is a thread on the forum. There is a distributor in Midvale. They have strange hours, so ring beforehand.

Hi Yorl,

My plans to bring 2 PR4s for the ST1300 back with me through the airport on my return from Atlanta have fallen through since the front was on back order (everywhere it seems).

As a result, I decided to mail order them from Jake Wilson and have them shipped directly to my door in Perth. Looking at their shipping rates, the cheapest way was to buy 2 sets (3 became more expensive).

So I will have a spare front and rear PR4 arriving in Perth with an ETA of 23 June. It hasn't hit my credit card yet so I can't give an exact price, but each set cost $364.48 USD including their share of shipping.

120/70ZR-18 (59W) Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT Radial Front Motorcycle Tire - 2012 Honda ST1300 (ABS) (Front)
170/60ZR-17 (72W) Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT Radial Rear Motorcycle Tire - 2012 Honda ST1300 (ABS) (Rear)

If you're interested then let me know.

Depending on where you go, fitting is gonna be ~$25 each (typically you have to take the wheel off yourself too).

Cheers, Rob.

Well Done Rob ...   :thumbs ..
Hopefully a member can take them off your hands pretty quick smart...
I am really interested to see how they perform. They look like they will be a great tyre.
Depending on how close I can get with sizes, these will be my next set of tyres. I have only just replaced mine with Bridgies thinking that after the Border run a few others that will give me time to save for PR4s.
Incidentally, the price you have put here is what a retailer here wants just for a rear.

Ping/nudge,...

I thought I may have had a few bites on this one, but never mind - since they're meant to last [up to] 20% longer I'd rather not have a spare set sitting in the garage a) taking up space and competing with my wife's shoes  :spank, b) getting old, and c) preventing me from buying the latest & greatest from Michelin (PR5 perhaps  :grin ) next time around.

So, if I don't have any taker by Monday I'm gonna reduce the order back down to just mine and cop the extra shipping (only another ~$25) - I can still do that since they haven't shipped. Please send me a message if you want me to keep a set for you.

Cheers, Rob.

MotoFizz Seat Bag

For those that have seen my bike Seat Bag (and those that haven't) a few friends are looking to purchase some bags.
I have popped a link below to the bag I have which is the middle size one and if anyone is interested I am trying to get a discount for volume.
So far 3 people are looking at getting a bag.
If anyone else wants one or anything else from their site, please let me know by Friday this week (15th August) as I would like to order on the weekend.
