Does this look right????
« on: October 16, 2014, 04:45:46 PM »
I changed my rear shock today, un fortunately I didn't pay enough attention when I took the other one off, but this one seems to be pope sit way up from old one, but it can only go in that way coz of the bolts, I know it's a silly question but do these look right ???
And how can I tell how good it is, will I have to go over bumpy roads and hope it doesn't bottom out like old one??

Looks like 100% ok to me

Here's mine. http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=4738.msg50795#msg50795

I didn't have to adjust the preload much (2-3 turns) as an estimate between 1 and 2 riders on the bike........seems ok so left it at that.

Do as they suggest and set the rebound at 3 for the first ride two. With the two of us it was a little firm but with the trailer it felt ok so I adjusted the rebound to 2 as 90% of the time we ride two up and leave it there for short trailer trips.

That will depend if it's a solo trip or not? So far for one trip the maximum ks we've done 2 up is about 300 one way on setting 3. After getting home I adjusted down to two and that's were it's been since. More than likely yes if we both go together but on my own I'll leave it as is.

Just make sure when you adjust the rebound on these is that don't go from 3 to 2 directly. You need to turn the adjuster the other way (3,4,5 etc)

No probs Alan, I've got the trailer hooked on again, will take it for test run after my tea, I will need to wait till Saturday before I can try it two up.

Thanks Alan
