One for the aviation enthusiasts!
« on: October 16, 2014, 07:41:09 PM »

This weekend, Cowra will be hosting the Australian Warbirds Association's AGM.  They are expecting around 50 aircraft to fly in to the local aerodrome and if your an aviation nut like me it's worth a trip over to have a look.

I headed to Cowra this morning as I heard a very rare F4U Vought Corsair was stopping over for the night on its way to its new owner in Victoria.  It's spent the past 17 years in Darwin being restored to flying condition.  I wasn't disappointed!  Here are a few pics, amongst other things a privately owned BA Hawk jet arrived and put on a great aerobatic display over the airfield.  Not sure if he's hanging around for the weekend.

I'm riding over again on Saturday, say g'day if you see a bloke on a blue coloured S10.

Thanks for posting.  That certainly is an iconic plane in the Pacific war history.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

That's for sure Biggles.  It's an extremely impressive aircraft and after spending some time admiring it this arv it's easy to understand why the Jap pilots feared them!

Wish I had been around on the weekend. Always great to see the old stuff in action. have to look at the Temora schedule and get out there sometime.
