Meringandan Salutation
« on: December 06, 2014, 06:18:40 PM »
Hi, I am a newbie to the ST owners club. I have owned a 2004 ST1100P since 2007.  Bought it ex QLD police with 27,000 Km on the clock.  Just like brand new.  Mainly used to commute to work.  Have had a number of bikes over the years including a DT250 Yamaha and a Honda Elsinore 250.  Bought a brand new Yamaha XJ750 in 1982 and this was a beauty.  After the trail bikes, it was like getting off a Massey Ferguson and into a Jag.  Usual story, when the kids came along I put the bikes aside, but it gets into your blood, so when they left home, I got myself another two wheeler.  Hope to meet up with some of you for a ride,
Regards, Philbo

Welcome Philbo.
You're right about the Jaguar-like qualities of the ST Hondas.
Except the STs are reliable and don't spend half their life in the workshop.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Welcome Philbo,
You will find heaps of useful information here and a gaggle of guys and girls happy to assist with any questions.
You must have bought your bike from the same auction as mine. (similar mileage and date).
Hope to see you on a run soon or at the very least at the National Rally next year (It's just down the road)
Cheers,
Adrian.
