Matlock Police, turned into Solo One. Paul Cronin became Dave Sullivan on the Sullivans. Made by Crawfords around Ringwood and lower Dandenongs. Too much information????

"VKC to Matlock. Do you have a copy?" I loved watching anything that involved motorbikes from an early age. Loved it.  :thumb

The 750/4 is most often seen these days in immaculate condition at Bike Shows.
Even more reason you'd wished you'd bought and kept one, Johnny.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I put a link to the opening credit of an episode called "The Billabong" in the original post.

You'll remember the music... kinda like that famous song from the war movie "Kelly's Heroes"... "Burning Bridges"....

Soundtrack Kelly's Heroes - Burning Bridges

Samsies Johnny. The ACT coppers rode 'em way back, and i could be mistaken, but I believe they could have been my first love! AWESOME bikes. I ended up with one of those full faired 900 B'ol Dors. My love for Hondas was set.

I had an ex police 750/4. It was a great bike, except Honda fitted different chain and sprockets from the civilian version, so it revved quite high when cruising. It was very quick off the mark though. I couldn't afford to change them at the time, so I put up with it until I traded it on a XL250 (bought on the never, never, as you do in your youth).

I used to have a pretty ratty 750KZ (DOHC one) about 10/11 years ago. It needed a new chain and sprockets (my last chain drive ever) but they were hard to find. After a tooth count on both sprockets it seemed that mine had the police set on. Though in my case revving lower than standard 750 of the day.
