No Nativity Scene in Canberra this Year

No Nativity Scene in Canberra this Year

The Supreme Court has ruled that there cannot be a Nativity Scene in the nation's Capital this Christmas season.
This isn't for any religious reason.

They simply have not been able to find Three Wise Men in Canberra ..

The search for a Virgin continues.....

There was no problem, however, finding enough donkeys to fill the stable.

Another Canberra basher.
Canberra is quite a nice place when Parliament is in recess.
Unfortunately the tone of the place changes when those idiots from out of the Territory return to take their seats in Parliament.
Please send us some decent politicians to rule the country.

I can't recall the last time it snowed here, sometime in the mid 80s when it actually hit the ground. It snows and hails more in the Blue Mountains, and dare I say it Queensland  :butt  We don't get flooded out that much either  :beer

Anyway, I will be in Queensland all next week so don't want it too warm and humid, no storms etc etc  :well

At least when it snows there's a reward for tolerating the bitter cold.        :p

I found it on a US site posted by a Victorian. I guess the city name could be changed to suit any place in the world.

Alan,
I find it surprising that I support Canberra. It has its advantages and disadvantages like any place. After leaving the regular Army in 1992 I wanted to return to my home state of Queensland but I was outvoted 3 to 1 by my immediate family so I'm still here.
The sensitivity about Canberra lies in the fact that news services in particular report, for example, that Canberra has introduced some new tax or screwed the states in some way. What they should say is the Federal Government ... or the Parliament ... or the politicians who we voted into Parliament have done such and such.
I'd go for a ride over to Saaz's place now but I'm too busy getting ready to fly to Brisbane tomorrow.

I have only lived in two places, and I quite like not having to do dairy farm work in Victoria regardless of the weather.  Other than that, there are many places I would consider going to live, its just that I hate moving, since I have gathered all this valuable stuff over the years.....

Wouldn't you know, a storm just came through with hail stones the size of jaffas and up. So far 32mm of rain, at one point the rain rate was at least 135mm per hour.  It will get me used to the forecast rain in Queensland over the next week  :rofl
