New tyres going on as i type
« on: February 02, 2015, 10:57:30 AM »
Well,  couldn't  wait any longer for thr PR4, just not available  around Brisbane.  So on go the Angel GT again. Also putting on the TireWatch at the same time as i have had them sitting at home waiting for the tyre change

Not a good sight was the 3 mechanics standing around pulling  the TireWatch out of the packet. Hope the have put them on before

I have the Garmin TPMS fitted, and they are very handy.  I have the Low Pressure warning set at 2psi below my normal cold pressure, and it is interesting to see that pressures rise by around 5 psi once the tyres heat up.

Around a 10% increase from cold pressures is about perfect, but it can vary from 5% to 10% depending on speed and ambient road temperature. Fortunately I have not yet had a warning of low pressure due to a puncture.

I just went the Pirelli Angel GTs too TJ for similar reasons...

From my experiences, the GTs have every bit as much dry weather grip as the PR4s/PR3s, but they transition through banking (drop in to corners) just a tiny bit slower. This actually makes for a very clean cornering experience and good apexing.

I'm quite a fan of the GTs - am interested to see what mileage I can glean from them.     :thumbs

Cheers, Diesel

Well the Angel GT's that came off lasted around 25000Km, happy with that.

I can attest to your comment regarding going through corner,s just could not explain it in such a precise and technical manner  :-++

Reckon you will get 30000Km out of them....you have a reputation for great mileage out of tyres  :thumb

Yes, agree with how they go into corners. Much like Dunlops I have used in the past, a bit flatter profile so even drop into corners compared to PR2s and PR3s
