An interesting and humbling experience for me ...
« on: April 01, 2015, 03:11:58 PM »
Occasionally while riding, I see a taxi, or a bus, or a car, or pedestrians who are about to cross in front of me.
If there is time and room, I often ease off the throttle, and wave said vehicles or pedestrians to 'go ahead' and cross in safety.
Often a cabbie is trying to merge with the traffic from parked and I always wave them ahead, traffic permitting.
A simple, tolerant, gesture.

At 3pm today there was a knock at my door, and a cab driver was standing there. He said that he had made a few enquiries among other drivers, and general consensus was that I am always courteous, always wave to the cabbies, and as a gesture of appreciation from them they have offered to shout me to dinner at one of the local hotels, at a time and date that suits me.

I think that these guys are fantastic, to come up with an idea like this.  :thumbs

Mate- you live a charmed existence!
Mind you, you obviously deserve everything you get.     :thumbsup
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Good Cabbies notice and appreciate considerate and patient motorists and coz u r a local they have put 2+2 2gether and worked out where u live - despite the fact u have a large house name above your front door that makes it pretty easy:
"Kevin's Heaven
  (Is an ST11)".
