The only problem was lack of lighting in the park for the Friday dinner, but I think you were already aware of that. Perhaps either LED camp lanterns or one of those roadworks style flood lights. Or check if there is a well illuminated meeting area.

The tables and chairs were a great idea.

Short rides and more time for socialising. We can ride any time but we don't all get to meet up often. There were some people at this year's Really I didn't get to talk to.

If you Queenslanders had daylight saving then you would have had natural lighting saving you the cost of getting lighting in  :well 8) :Stirpot :grin :grin

I would have liked a couple of in-depth sessions such as a technical talk/show and tell, riding techniques, really useful farkles and other bits .....
I agree that the Saturday ride was a bit long, maybe a couple of short rides or even concurrent alternatives.
Overall, my wife and I really enjoyed the meet and look forward to the next one. Shame about the weather though.

I had a ball, great to finally meet everyone face to face.  I was too busy having a good time to even notice the lighting issue....

For next year though, can I please order warmer night time temps and no fog???? o:)

Our first rally and will not be our last. We had such a great time that we have started planning for Perth. Got a two bar and trailer and are now starting to plan how we will get there.
We met such wonderful people and are disappointed we didn't get to meet more .

No complaints from us. :thumbsup

I think 150 to 160 kays is a good outing between morning tea and lunch so wouldn't change that.

All the Rallies have been so well organised I couldn't fault anything.  Caravan parks are perfect venues in so many ways.
Any "tech schools" would need to be only an hour long max because there isn't a lot of spare time unless people are going to miss something else.  A slow riding course at a nearby carpark might interest some judging by comments on the Forum.

On the catering side (mostly outside your control) some sort of fruit juice at breakfast is a basic requirement.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

In all honeSTy, this years Rally was far better than Ballarat. In saying that I  enjoyed Ballarat but there was 1 part that I didnt have to consider. My kind nature and willingness to help another OzSTOCer  :well left me somewhat P'd off with myself. So much planning I had done was thrown out the window by offering assiSTance to someone in need.
I enjoyed Ballarat and meeting new people, the rides and camaraderie was #1. Cut short by a day because of another...
Toowoomba was Absolute fun, I led 2 others to the Rally, They were both punctual and the ride up was easy.
We arrived at Toowoomba and were welcomed by out Big4 hoSTs. Friday a lazy day, our Shave event before the meet and greet then our Dinner in the Dark,, a oversight but not an issue really,, I know where my mouth is... :crackup
The planning and direction given over the weekend was orcheTrated well. The enviroment at the park made it easy to catch up with people and meet new faces.
I enjoyed the ride, length and pace suited me, the venues capable of handling our LARGE group.
Sundays ride plan aborted by weather, out of planners control but it gave a further opportunity  to meet more members and check out farlkes etc, Sunday arvo I went on a ride 320k's to revisit old STomping grounds. Sunday nights  late STayers dinner was also a good time to reflect the weekend and chat further with fellow OzSTOCers.
I have enjoyed both Rally's I've attended and lQQk forward to next year in WA for a chance to do it all again.
I say THANKS to the Rally committees both Vic and QLD for all the work planning a successful gathering.

and along with Biggles requeST for fruit juice, I'd like to see cereals for breaky..    :thumb

It seems there aren't many of us cereal burners left.  I noted at Ballarat and Inverell that very few bothered with the supplied cereals.
When I travel on the bike I take packages of my fave cereals and a 600ml bottle of frozen milk (and a dessert spoon rather than using teaspoons!).  Then I'm set from brekky in motels.  So I'd suggest to you and me that we take our own cereals but live in hope of some fruit juice.

I have posted a more formal wrap-up elsewhere, but here's a few comments and suggestions:

It was a great idea to have nibbles supplied for the meet and greet.
Tables and chairs at our gathering area worked well and stopped small cliques from forming.
The ride lenght was perfect and the relaxed amount of time spent at the two venues  made it all unhurried.
Bussing to the dinner venue worked well.
Mick was a very informed and informative speaker, and having him stay the whole rally was a good idea.
The dinner could have concluded halh an hour earlier.
Breakfasts at $15 was a bit expensive, considering that all some, including me, wanted was some toast or cereal and a cuppa.  Perhaps a two tier price for breakfast could be considered.
Stragglers Dinner on Sunday night is best left as an informal gathering that finds it's own level.
I would be happy to continue to use caravan parks as a primary venue.

All good from Ros and I but if you are looking for some constructive feedback, we were a little underwhelmed by the speaker at the Saturday night dinner. Sure, sure, we will hopefully get a bit of good promo through him and ARR and that can't be sneezed at but I can't help feeling we have some fantastic speakers/stories amongst our own ranks. How about looking within for a speaker next time?

The overall organisation of the whole event was terrific (particularly as it was all voluntary) and we found the social interaction amongst all the attendees the best so far.

Congratulations to everyone involved.

;-*This was my first rally (& hopefully not may last).
To all who organised the event my congratulations the whole thing was a credit to all of you.
The ride I thought was great with the 2 stops for morning tea & lunch well catered for and it was pretty much the right length definitely not too long.
What a great group of people members of OZTOC are, everyone seemed determined to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves.
Once again congratulations to all
Just one question, Is it possible to purchase a copy of the photos taken by Danielle Bennett from "Snowflake Photography"

Our first National Rally... actually our first OzSTOC event... & it will not be our last.

How great was the Toowoomba Rally!... how are we gunna get to Perth?... how heavy do you reckon that rain is?... all the good stuff you talk about on the ride home.

A big thank-you again for arranging gluten free meals for Kate. It was greatly appreciated.

Also a big shout-out to the three STs fitted with a Russell Day Long seat, a Sargents seat & an MJM seat... that the owners were kind enough to let so many of us try out... thank-you.

All the best. John, Kate & Miss Scarlett.
