Clip? . .  Is that a rubber stopper sort of thing? What does it do and what shape is it? Metal or rubber? Rubber . . Maybe something from Clark Rubber? Metal . . Maybe fabricate your own?

Yes, it's missing the tongue. Just a rectangular piece of steel with two holes drilled through it, should be simple to manufacture.

Crocman I'll have a look at my Corbin seat on the weekend and get the size of the metal tongue.

If I have the right metal here I'll can make one for you and post it to you, just let me know.

You will only need to get it riveted on.

I would recommend trying to place a couple of metal washers in the underside, otherwise the rivets will pop through eventually.

Its missing the tongue because the rivets pulled out see bottom for likely reason why.

But

Once you get your metal tongue from Abe go buy some quality stainless self drilling screws with Philips head  in about M8 size and some two part knead-able epoxy putty. Do a test fit without the putty to be sure the angle and length (which should be spot on from Abe). If its all good then and only then gently undo those two screws, add putty to the holes and a shallow bed to the tongue area on the seat and re screw the tongue on using the putty to bond the tongue  to the seat and a firm anchor for those screws.
Goes without saying that the screws need only be long enough for the job...you can round the tips off.

My thought is the previous owner fitted the seat but failed to get that tongue under the forward mount bar. Instead it sat on top of the bar and once they planted their bum it bent then pulled the rivets. Ive had a few ST's here in my workshop and two or three had the seat fitting wrong...go figure.

PS I checked the parts index and that tongue isn't a separate item to D.I.Y is your only option it seems.

Sorry for the delay Crocman (getting old, and forgot)

The tongue is made out of mild steel (straight, no bend) and measures 50mm wide, 65mm long and 3mm thick.

It is also wrapped with 1-2mm leather along both 65mm sides.

So, the rivets go through the leather-metal-leather-seat base.

If you want a photo, I can post one.
