Sound Racer
« on: September 14, 2015, 09:45:01 AM »
I was prompted to post this after hearing the hype about the new (and last) Aussie Commodore, the VF II.    The blurb includes reference to an exhaust sound device "... a resonator that inducts noise into the cabin to enhance the driving experience..."    This sounds to me like the "Sound Racer" which has been on the market for a while.   The Sound Racer is a device that plugs into your cigarette lighter and via your radio, gives you a V8, V10 or V12 sound inside your car, with the engine revs picked up via the alternator output.  See   http://revvheads.com.au/  for more info and a video of the device in action.   I'm thinking Christmas presents for the boys in the family, as it looks like a pretty cool gadget.

What would really cap it all off, would be to rig one of these on your ST.
There's not too many V8 ST's around  :grin

Oh dear, what a sad "wannabe" device.     :grin

The upside is there's less noise outside the car this way, unlike those doof-doof boom boxes you can hear literally a block away, and ditto the unmuffled Harley "look-at-me" pipes.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

A crumpledore pulled up beside us at the lights a few years ago and the bass on what ever sound system they were using was set so low you could hear the car vibrate with each beat.
