Oil recycling
« on: November 13, 2015, 04:08:37 PM »
Supercheap Auto is now accepting used oil at certain stores for recycling.
That's a big help.  I had been taking mine to my car mechanic to add to his drum.

My council oil recycling service shut down around a year ago, and since then I've been stockpiling.   Just a few weeks ago I also discovered that SuperCheap receives old oil.  It's a most appropriate service to be offered by someone selling so much oil, and I've written to the company thanking them for offering the service.

Seems it only started at Queensland Supercheap today.
I would have thought that there would be enough money in the recycled oil to cover their costs in handling it.  Then, as you say, there's the bonus of potential increased oil sales.  They have regular specials on oils, including this weekend.
They also accept expired lead-acid batteries.

That must be a WA service.  In Queensland you have to take it all to the designated section of the tip yourself.

I have a 205 litre drum, Transpacific come and empty it for me when it's full.... But you can also drop it at the tip for free.... but maximum 20 litres at a time...
