I have a Doctors appointment at 10:20 am. But will be working from home afterwards if anyone wants to drop in for a cuppa on the way home.
Cheers,
Gary

Home around 3:30.Thank you to everyone that rolled up.
It was a boring run up the motorway from caloundra then a boring run down the slab to home.It was great to see Bill's new bike and Sabie & Pauline's MGB.
Between the dog micturating on Shiney's jacket, the 15 year male looking girl driving a hyundai and the local ice dealers..... it was an interesting RTE.
I think this has set the record for the most amount of birthdays at an RTE at 2  :Cake1
The details of next month's weekday ride will be published posthaste  ;-*

Home from Armamoor.
Good fun outing- didn't cop too much flak for arriving on a Suzuki- might have been the OzSTOC jacket and cap saved me.    >:()
A very good turn-out for a weekday.  Photos to follow.

The V-Strom?  Fantastic little machine.  It's a keeper.   :grin

It corners beautifully.  Walks over any bumps in the corners.  Cruises happily at 110 in 6th at 4800 RPM, just under the break-in 5000 max RPM.
6th is too tall for around town, so it's great to have a bike with such a wide gear range.  The digital speedo is very nice, and I love the digital gear position indicator.  It's actually better than the one on the Tenéré or Triumph Explorer.

On the way home I diverted in to Borumba Dam for a look, then tried out the Bellthorpe Range Road from Maleny- excellent fun.  Mt Mee was a hoot.  Fair dinkum- look at the advisory speed and add 30, even the low numbered ones.  It's that good- on dual purpose tyres!

I came back through Dayboro and the low level light started flashing, so I filled up there.  The 20 litre tank took 14.16 litres for 385 km- 72.8 mpg,  25.78 km/litre or 3.88 litres/ 100 km.    ++
Looks like better than 460 km to the tank on a trip.  The manual says 91 RON is fine, although the Suzi mechanic recommends 95.

It will need proper lights, horn and cruise control to approach FarRiding standard, but for a run like today's, it needs nothing.  Once the rev limit goes beyond 5000 to the red line at 10,000 it will be even more fun, but the fuel economy will go out the window then.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Carrol and myself had a great time, we rode up the slab with Draco and found the place without any issues.
Had a few coffees and a good chat with the guys and wished Paulene and STimpy a happy birthday.

After it was all over we rode back down the slab. All in all it was a great day out :hatwave

Dunno about that, mate.  There's not a lot of weather protection on the Wee-Strom.  I'm still planning on reclaiming a real Long Legged bike, the inimitable ST.  The Strom is an absolute jewel around town and in the twisties.  Horses for courses!   :grin

I know, I know.  White is my second preference after red.  Besides, I have a list of low km private sale ones.  At some point I might just weaken and shock the socks off Mrs Biggles and grab one to make it impossible to move around the garage- it's already difficult.    :crazy     :eek    :fp

Enjoy the little purple pills (or whatever your fave colour is).  I might just have to buy the rights to that name...    :p
