Flashing light to alert

Is there any law banning flashing white lights to alert cars. I'm thinking of using the relays on my ex police bike wiring to connect to LEDs near the foot pegs.

You mean warning oncoming cars about Police activity?
The Police take a dim view of it and have been known to book offenders for interfering in Police operations (or somesuch).
I do it when I can to pay forward the number of times it has been done for me (usually unnecessarily, because I'm always law-abiding).  :whistle

That's what I thought too. A bit like the strobes used by the moto marshalls except on DRLs.
Peddle Cyclists do it, so it would be ingesting to hear the official stance.
I guess it would possibly vary from state to state.

Interesting question arises - In NSW you are not supposed to have DRLs on when headlights are on, so how does that affect motorbikes who have headlights on all the time  :think1 :think1

Simple...they are not DRL's...they are Conspicuity Lights under the ADR's...

Which in NSW they are not to be forward facing. How the trucks get away with it beats me - They are bright white and after going past 7-8 trucks you are nearly blinded on the bike at night time. They are lit up Christmas trees  :eek

You can use a device called a headlight modulator. It causes the low beam to change in intensity, it may help.

I ride a white 1100 with over mirror lights (not on), fluro vest and a white helmet. Amzing how many dont see you, especially when you are right along side the drivers window. Might have something to do with head down playing angry echidna or what  ever thhat game is.

Interesting driver behaviour. I'm a offshore / remote area paramedic these however when I worked in the UK a paramedic on the Honda st 11 and 1300's as well as in the ambulance when on emergency runs it was almost a daily occurrence when a near miss would happen, and that's with the things lit up like a Christmas tree. Best of luck.
