If you thought it was unusually bright today, well you were right......I took my Shiney ST out for a short jaunt up into the hills a.m. today, home for lunch and of coarse the mandatory poST ride wash.
I left home around 7:30 am-ish only half a tank of go juice on board......so it was a run through to capalaba on Mount Cotton Rd then over to the gateway motorway.....and no I didn't really have a planned route, like moST days I make it up as I go along.
Turned off onto Cleveland Rd rode through Camp Hill to Bennetts Rd then a little zig zag and onto Stanley St East.....followed that right in paST the Gabba then onto th Sth east F/way.
I found my way over to Waterworks Rd and set my sights on the neareST Maccas for breakfaST.......afterwards it was an easy smooth run towards Mount Nebo ....dodging those amazingly fit fockers on their pushies....fug that for fun!!
Onwards to Mount Glorious the air was a crisp 18* with little if any traffic......I rode paST 'RicerVille' cafe with all the early ricers.....I mean risers were sipping lattes boaSTing how well they rode their race replicas through the twiSTies, overtaking over double centre lines (those are for tin tops to abide by) ........a quick U turn and I was headed back down to the Samford turnoff .
Aside from the a couple of 4x for fooks sake get outa the ways, I followed chap on some Ol' single.....keen to show how well he could ride down hill, I let him have plenty of space to correct some of his over confidence.
Turning left on the roundabout at Samford Village I got a little noSTalgic reminiscing of 'THAT' day when the legend of 'DIESEL' was born......they STill can't get the pungent smell of diesel out the place it lingers to this day.....or it could've been the servo down the road.
A fairly uneventful run along the flat STretch of road that takes you over to Dayboro.....I parked up across the road form the bakery and opted for a pisSTop followed by a bottle of water (always carry these onboard in cooler bag) and watch the assorted bikes come n go ......if your into ppl watching ....I'm not ... So it was mount up and up n over Mount Mee .........very @#*€£#~?!? Slowly behind.... pharqing two,yes readers, TWO long caravans all the way to nearly the other side of the mountain .......double centre lines all the way.
Which once again did not deter the day racers from making their hurried pilgrimage to the next STop and brag point.
Onward to Woodford giving a polite way to the H.P. Going in the other direction .....phew.....another pisSTop , I know, it's gotta be an age thing......then it was back over Mount Mee....pause for comment..... What is it with some riders that go flat out, riding two inches off your tail light, along the the STraights then hold proceedings up for ....yeah ok ME ..... in the corners.....Assbandits!!
Now where was I ....oh yes.... By this time the farmers, horsie folk and every other man and his canine were out n about naval gazing, texting or yelling at the kids in the backseat.
My ride home took me through Petrie and onto the 'Slab' ........I need to get my speedo checked......I'm sitting on 80kph in the Boondall roadworks but I'm guessing my speedos out by about 30kph going by the traffic around me.....felt like I'd Stalled it from the STart at BathurST ......
Unfortunately for those minions that follow Another STunning photo of my ST I enjoyed my ride too much and didn't get a happy snap except the one on this poST of the dash, showing the fuel gauge and mileage covered on the tank of fuel.....sweet and 99 kms to go.
And that folks was my lil morning jaunt
P.S. The firST photo shows the downside to having a very Shiney ST .....too much reflection. The second photo was back in the garage with the door down.
