...and back to point of origin. Now we wait for Bill to give us a rundown on the ride.   :thumb

Just sat down to post today's excerpt.  Thanks for the postings, Kev- if you move the page quickly it looks like a movie (you remember those little booklets you could flick the pages and see the character move?)

It was a 24 hour Rally, with the Saturday morning spent in training to improve and educate us.  We had the combined wisdom of 4 Ironbutt Rally Finishers and one Buttlite Finisher.

The minimum score to be declared a Finisher was 20,000 and I cobbled together 25,300 points.  When I left at 16:00 DST the final scores hadn't been announced, but at least I ranked somewhere- a "DNF" is definitely undesirable. This was my fourth rally.  I won the third, but certainly won't be far up the rungs this time- the competition against some of the hardcore guys was fierce.  The riding was hard and continuous- basically the stuff we all love.  Details after I've had a few winks.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Must've been difficult riding that section backwards from Kew to Kendall
At my age you realise something very important, then ten minutes later you've forgotten it.

I got a cricked neck out of it, but it was the only way I could get there in the time available.

What is the purpose or IBA classification of the ride that Biggles is doing?   :popcorn

Sorry I missed this Pete.  It was a Training Rally, more information may be gained from here http://forum.ironbutt.org/index.php?threads/so-you-want-to-do-a-rally-but-you-dont-know-how-read-on.712/

Hope that helps  :beer
