Witness in Alice Springs at 'STUPID' O'Clock anyone??
« on: April 04, 2017, 02:51:29 PM »
Anyone in Alice Springs willing and able to witness IBA forms at approximately 03:30   :o   on 07/04/2017 ??

I can get the petrol station staffer to do so but it takes time to explain things to them I find.   :fp

I just want to get a witness in case I don't make it for some reason and I need to cover my backside ....... so to speak.

Yeah.  Good luck with Servo attendants.  The last one I tried refused to ever sign anything.
Must have had a bad experience.

Have a look on the IBA Australia Forum. I think the IBA will now accept or even possibly require a photo of each of your servo dockets to do away with witness statements. I haven't taken much notice because an IBA ride is not on my horizon.
TJ will know.

I have only had a single response there so far.

If all else fails I'll just bluff and bluster my through ..... maybe even bribe with a chocolate bar.  :)

It's a trial service for IBA Premium members only at this stage.
I can't get excited about it because they want a photo of every docket taken next to the ODO.  More hassle than it's worth.  I can see the sense of a photo next to the ODO at the start and finish, but the in-between ones are an over-kill.  The Ride Log should cover them, as it always has.

And yes, I've told IBA USA.

Biggles, I presume us mortals are using this document set  http://www.ironbutt.com/themerides/documentation/rideforms.pdf   along with scanned copies of the fuel dockets.  This is a new set of docs since I did my last IBA ride.

Hi Pete (and everyone).
That's a "brand new" version of the documentation (see the revision date, bottom right- 9th March 2017).
It's exactly the same information, just a new format.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention, because I just use the copy on my computer and I'm heading off to the second IBA Muster in Renmark this weekend.
I had a reply from Mike Kneebone saying they're open to feedback, but the photo of every docket beside the ODO will be required for 2017, for those wanting to trial that system (viz, Premium members).  They still accept the standard Witness forms, obviously, from everyone, including premium members.
