The day turned out better than expected with Peterborough's Saturday forecast maximum temp almost reached about the time we left for our ride.

Ready to roll with the surrounding air cool enough to show the exhaust gases while the bike was idling.

We used this route which gave us a return distance of 234km taken from the Rider 450 trip log. Actual riding time was 2 hours 52 minutes which wasn't to far from the Google maps estimated time.

Our first stop was at Cheap as Chips in Clare as Heather needed to get a few things.

Parking in main street of Clare is not easy as it's hard to find a space during shopping hours so we aimed for the small rest area next to the roundabout at the northern end of the main shopping district.

An uneventful trip home except for a sudden drop in temp after we passed through Jamestown with arrival time at home about 3:15pm.

It wasn't as cold as I expected either.  All my orange gear came off at Calomba because I was hot and stayed off for the rest of the day.

Good to see a few pix of the gathering, including one of our iconic jackets.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
