Today's run was from Tennant Creek to Katherine. I left at 7.00am on a beautiful cool morning, with long shadows across the road, and the landscape illuminated in bright colours from the early morning sun. My shadow beside me was my evocative and welcome companion again, and see my Ride Report for last year's FarRide to Glendambo for my thoughts on Shadow Riders, because I can't work out how to do the URL cut and paste on this device.
It got hot quickly, and was a somewhat uncomfortable ride. I sat on 130 km/h but with no strong tail wind that has been my friend since Charters Towers, fuel consumption took a hit, and my range from full went from 550km to 400km
At Katherine I had a long soak in the hot springs, chatting with other travellers, and that has restored my body and soul.
Tomorrow I head for Darwin via Kakadu, and will be staying with my niece and her family for a couple of days.
I will also be catching up with Wendy with her new ST1300, and we are cooking up an Easter Ride.
