Any members near Sandhurst Vic that could check out a bike
« on: April 29, 2012, 06:13:07 PM »
Hi All,
Need some help if possible. Wondering if there are any Victorian members living near Sandhurst that might be able to check out a bike for sale down there for my son? (no its not an ST)

If you think you might be able to help out, please back to me via pm with your contact details and I'll give you a call.

Cheers

Barry and Marissa  :)  :)

LOL ... I knew I could count on you Dickie. As it turns out our Lismore brother has checked one out for me today, and it's now sitting in my shed.  :thumbs

Thankyou brother Laurie. Yes, you must lift your game in the GPS department. I confess to having travelled a most unwanted detour around some of your local roads when I headed for Ballina instead of Bungalow yesterday afternoon.  Gravel, mud, rain, having no waterproof liner in my jacket, and rapidly fading light all combined to ensure that I had a most exciting adventure getting back to the Highway.  Having said that there were some magnificent vista's along the way so it wasn't all bad.
Brendan's little Hyosung cruiser performed well, there no touring bike that's for sure, but he wanted a cruiser! The thing vibrates like a typical big twin engine, but surprisingly settles down nicely at a rather useful speed of 140kph. I might add the bike still pulls strongly when you snap open the throttle at that speed and it feels rock steady on the road. We had read lots of dissapointing reports about reliability issues and quality of finish on these bikes, mostly focused on the earlier 2005-2008 models. Later reports I've read seem to confirm that Hyosung have got their collective act together in recent years and shown significant improvement in both aspects of their later model bikes. So hopefully Brendan will enjoy a trouble free run with a bit of luck . Thanks again Laurie for checking the bike out for him.

I should add that I managed to somehow arrive home with no rear number plate or rego label on the bike. Either the vibration or rough roads must have been too much for it to hold on  :eek

Hmmm...I can see the scene evolving clearly in my mind's eye now ::)

Officer... "Right Sir, and what's your reason for speeding this afternoon?" :law

Brendan..."Dad said"...

Oh, except for the bit about Brendan chatting to the officer about speeding  :eek
I rode the bike all the way home from Lismore.
Got the rego transferred today so he's all set for the long weekend coming up. We have the maps out tonight plotting a 3 day ride into dem dare hills  :thumbs
