Help regarding fuel pump. ST1100
« on: February 12, 2022, 10:14:14 AM »
Anyone out there had a problem with fuel pump delivering too much fuel. Tested, and delivering over a litre in 15 seconds! I have heard of pumps not delivering enough, but not over delivering.....Pump kaput? 2000 ST1100.

That is definitely a new problem. Just maybe it has an aftermarket pump fitted that is too strong. I cant think of any way the OEM could over pressure..

Thanks Brock,
The bike has run beautifully for a long time, however I had to replace the fuel pump relay.....it was kaput, I'm wondering if somehow it may have damaged the pump itself......i have had the bike running and starting as normal using a gravity feed fuel system, so the problem is definitely the pump. Next step is to try a fuel pressure regulator......Cheers.
