What a great venue with great meals

Can't make this one as we will be off camping with one of our sons and his family. I haven't had much luck with RTE's this year.

That's horrible news mate, hopefully you are able to get it fixed for a reasonable price

Just the cost of a new alternator (around $660) and then my time to take the bike apart and install. It's a bit disappointing that I only installed this alternator brand new 3.5 years ago. You'd think they would last longer than that!

Diesel had his alternator rewound a few years ago on his ST1300
If I remember right they did it for a 6volt or 24 volt and had to get it redone
Twice the work

My mate Robert is coming on his NT1100, I will be on the Spyder as I am hobbling around with knee problems
Parking out the back  there is a alley on left side of pub or side street around the back

We are catching up for coffee at Ann's Bakery Bakery top of Herries St at 9.00
then doing ride finishing at Esk for the RTE

Robert and I departed Toowoomba about 9.15 after having coffee at Ann's Bakery. We rode down to Grantham then did the Placid Hills short cut to the Esk road then turned off and rode through Coominya to Lowood Fernvale then we took the road around the back of Wivenhoe Dam towards Sumerset Dam turning off onto Mt Beppo Rd to Toogoolawah then went take the Crows Nest Rd that Diesel told us about which takes us back into Esk
Arriving about 11.45 with everyone out the front of the Grand Hotel checking out the bikes
Rob and I had done 205km to get there
After joining in for a chat we went inside and ordered lunch. I ordered the Senior Chicken Schnitzel which was a good size meal. Enjoying everyone company we soon got all our meals
The barman came to clear some glasses and asked if he could take a photo of our group then I asked him to take a photo on my phone for OzSTOC
After Rob & I finished eating we decided to head for home  We headed up to Hampton with it raining lightly all the way
When we got to Hampton it had stopped raining
Headed to Toowoomba where I filled up with fuel ready for next ride
It was only 80km back to my place

Bit late on the RR, but here it is

Carrol wasn't able to join me on this ride so I headed out solo.
It has been a very long time since I last attended an RTE without her.

Anyway, it was an awesome day with great weather.
I had a very enjoyable ride up through the mountains over Mount Glorious
Continuing on to Esk I was overtaken by Wild Rose and Robert, I gave them a wave as they passed by

Upon arrival I met up with Jeeves & Leanne, they had arrived earlier in their car.
Shortly after this we were joined by NiftyNev19 then DavidP with his two nephews and Wild Rose and Robert.

   


We all had a chat and checked out the bikes the nephews had ridden then got a group photo before heading in for lunch.




The Esk Grand Hotel had a custom reservation sign for us (wrong bike on the pic but the thought was nice)




The service was awesome and the food was great.



I highly recommend the Esk Grand Hotel to anyone traveling through the area


The ride home was damp as it was raining a bit, however as always it was great to be out on the bike.

Thank you to everyone that was able to make it and I hope to see you all again at another RTE soon
