So, I just happened to be camped at the same place the Vintage Bike Club of Qld - Indian Enthusiast's Group are having a get together.  Lovely people were only too happy to show me around the bikes and describe them.
Interestingly, some models have a left hand throttle!!! That would do my head in! One bike was a 1915 unrestored original!

Absolutely.
They said 15 years ago, they used to restore them, but now they leave them as original as possible.
