seat stuff.. Again
« on: December 03, 2025, 07:47:20 PM »
Hey Brethren, this has been brought up many times before, but this time I'm looking for definite answers.

I need to get a custom seat made for my POLICE version 2011 ST1300. As you are aware the police editions have a different rear end under the Cowell to which a standard rear seat will not fit without heavy modifications.. As Confucius once said.... "Fk That!"

Im not really interested in grinding bits and grafting bits etc. this is what I'm looking for...

A custom made one piece seat (rider and pillion) suitable for a fat cnt who loves long distance riding.

There was one bike at the RTE at Beaconsfield that had a very comfy looking seat with leg supports.. Not sure who's bike it was, shoulda asked more questions. But Alas, after food and beers, I forgot!

So, Please hit me up with any custom seat dudes or dudettes, that may be able to help me out, I'm in Melbourne, but happy to work with someone interstate or even overseas.. There's gotta be someone out there that understands right?

Thanks in Advance,

The other Rusty

A mate (Pete) from AusTouring.com had a custom seat (for his DR650) made by this guy down Cranbourne way.

Pete's pretty happy with the result, he's getting another DR650 seat done for one of his mates coming from Germany next April for our Tassie Tour.

Personal experience:

The best custom seat I had on my ST was the "Russell Day-Long" out of the USA.

In Australia the best custom seat I have had is the "MJM Custom Motor Bike Seats"  (This is the current seat on my Goldwing).
