Adelaide may have lost the Formula 1 to Victoria some decades ago.

There's always been the threat to take it back, but looks like SA is taking the bikes instead.

With the rules getting tighter as reguards the track size and run off areas as the bikes get faster, I don't see that a concrete channel through the city as being a viable track. They built 'the Bend' as being a track for the future and now they want to put it back on a bumpy street circut. I cannot see 345Km/h bikes on that layout being a success.

I read or heard somewhere that they're wanting to bring younger people back into following the sport and they think a city track is a good way to improve exposure.
Perhaps if the money grabbing idiots in charge hadn't put televising it to Foxtel/Kayo rather than the race alone on Channel 10 like it used to be then more people would be watching it and hence following it.
