Ok,
Now I have orderd one of these:-

You could mount it on the front fairing as others have done or make a double one of these.

That way you would have space for a radio aerial and a UHF aerial.

Thanks Malcolm but I am looking for an aerial. Hopefully once I find one I can sort out the mounting.

Have a look at the selection available in Supercrap or Repco . They should have something that could do the job. Or try Jaycar

There is a family company in Cessnock NSW who manufacture all sorts of antennae. I got an extension one for my UHF. Their prices are very reasonable and their responses are very helpful.
They sell through eBay. Here's their "store"

Thanks for the Link nd just found my new radioi???? The other one suits my needs better as it has a flat back and looks easier to mount where it has to be mounted
