daily dawn rides
« on: July 09, 2012, 03:46:34 PM »
for years now i have been leaving home before dawn to ride into the pre dawn light. always enjoyed it , rugged up to keep warm and watch venus start the day. not going too fast , very little traffic, just get there safely and enjoy my self before the real sunrise and one is blinded. 30+ years and it is still something i enjoy daily.

For over 60 years I've experienced 99.9999% of the dawns from behind closed eyelids in bed.
It's still something I enjoy daily.

And I do enjoy a blat on the bike nearly every day.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I have not ridden many pre dawn on the tar, did plenty as a jackeroo, heading out mustering to get to the paddock you where mustering that day before the sun came up.

It is always an amazing part of the day, have always loved it.

I'm on the road at 0530 every morning, heading east. Not looking forward to the sunrise in the eyes bit....
