Oh yes, and I may tag along with Diesel for some of the journey. On the Great Ocean Road I will probably duck up to Colac via Deans Marsh Road to visit relatives, then continue on.

Looks like another 'epic adventure' for me - this is my intended route down to Middleton including GOR, Alpine Way, Wilson's Promontory, Mt Panorama and Yackandanda Pub - with a stops at Philip Island, Mt Gambier and Bright...

Since you're going all that way, you may as well do the ride around the Blue lake at Mount Gambier and up to the look out.

http://www.mountgambiertourism.com.au/bluelake.asp

Also rather than run up to Heywood and ride the boring national one go via Portland and do the coast road via Nelson.

Have a look at the variation here http://goo.gl/maps/bIfxn

I understand that all of the cabins have been booked, but there's a total of 57 beds available, and Graeme and Jane have some camp sited adjacent to the cabins.  There are also plenty of B&B options close by.     ....from StinkyPete (on behalf of the rally organizers)

Thanks Phil - however, I'd already booked a campsite prior to seeing your post. I'm sure there will be others to fill the space. Anyway, I didn't want Mitch to feel lonely in his swag.

If your chasing a bed, quite a few of the cabins have spares, so post and ask if anyone has a spare bunk, and if you have a room and a spare bunk post it up!

There is plenty of camping space available as well, it will be the perfect time of year for it :)

On the Sunday, a ride out alternative will be lead by myself and PhilSTer to Woodside (Cheese and Chocolates) then on to the Birdwood Mill National Motor museum. After that, riding out north through the Barossa Valley (Rowlands Flat, Tanunda and Nurioootpa) with myself or returning to Middleton with Phil. Those leaving to go east through the Riverland have an invite to park up at Berri at my place. on Sunday night. Lots of parking space for bikes and floor space for sleeping, but no bedding. Allow half hour or so at Woodside and a couple of hours at Birdwood and about 2.5 hours total ride time to Nuri. Plus another 1.75 hours to Berri. Here is the map link: http://goo.gl/maps/hFXJb

Please indicate who/how many might want to be doing all or part of this.
Cheers Leethal

Hi Leethal,

I'll probably join you, depending on how much time I can get off work.  I'll more than likely leave you at Nuri and head up to Pt Augusta via Clare.

Reckon I could be talked in to this Phil - I have good reason to do one or more of the regional tours - then meet my daughter for lunch at Hahndorf the next day, before heading off to the horizon.

Have to juggle annual leave etc - I'll just chuck my gear in to your cabin for halvies Sun night if it all works out - but NO PUB "CHALLENGES" this time - OK?       :rofl :rofl :rofl

Here's another "Teaser" for the March Rally.    The view is from the lookout on Waitparinga Road, just west of Victor Harbor.   While it's not on the route for the Saturday ride, it's about 25 minutes ride from Middleton, and has great views to the east across Victor Harbor towards Middleton, Goolwa and the Murray Mouth.
