Too Tall for Hyper Sports.............
« on: November 22, 2012, 02:08:57 PM »
Oh the pain.........

I went down the local Honda Stealership yesterday to pick up a globe for my brake light and saw this.......

My fave ever sports bike!

A Honda VTR1000 SP2 V-Twin!     (You should hear 'em)       :-++

Asked dude if I could 'chuck a leg over her' and he obliged.

That's where the trouble starts.

There is no way I could ever enjoy treating this bike as the makers intended, let alone own one as my 6'4" frame was simply too long/big for this diminutive rocket!

It was light and beautiful, and I KNOW they go 'like shot through a gun' - but I will always have to admire them from afar.

Heck - I've had to make plenty of adjustments even to my Nimitz Class ST1300 coz of my height!

Glad I didn't just stick to basketball tho!      :runyay                 :13Candy

Mate, it's designed and built by the Japaneses where 6ft is TALL, so what do you expect? I was in Japan for a short while a couple of years ago and everywhere I went I felt like a piece of scaffolding compared with the locals, the males have an average height of about 5' 4" (168 cm) and the women average about 5' 0" (153 cm), and I'm 6' 3" (188cm). So I know exactly how you feel!!! :cuss
Cheers,
Paul

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice; in practice there is!!

Bike racers tend to be shorter and lighter as well. The SP2 was built so that Edwards could win the WSB

Gotta love a V twin. Had the Suzuki equivalent, a TLR 1000, prior to me 'coming of age' and settling for the comfort of the STeed. That was my 'Japanese Ducati' although I did have an Italian one many moons ago. The difference was, the Suzuki never let me down once.   :grin
Getting wind in my hair while I still have some.
